Food Microbiology

The study of pathogens that contaminate food and microorganisms that may cause illness, especially if food is improperly cooked or stored, is known as food microbiology. It also includes the study of microorganisms used in the production of probiotics and other beneficial foods and beverages like cheese, yoghurt, bread, beer, and wine. Fermentation is one way to improve the quality and preserve food. Fermented food products have a longer shelf life because they are less prone to infections and other harmful bacteria.
